supercheesegirl: (lost - crazy!desmond)
I finally bought the Desmond t-shirt. I've been eyeing it since June 2008. Hopefully it will arrive quickly and I'll be able to enjoy it for the rest of the last season of Lost! Because, really, I've pretty much given up on the show and at this point an episode is worthwhile just if Desmond shows up and says "brotha" a couple of times. Hence the shirt.

So, yes, I watched last night's episode and was held captive by the TV the entire time. I don't have much to say about it, really, but I'd be happy to discuss. And can I just say that I really like Mysterious Hot Asian Temple Master Guy? He's my new favorite character.

It was good to see Des again. Ever since you began using that icon I knew we both appreciated the nutjob with a Scottish accent :)

I've seen that Asian gentleman before, just don't know his name.

The show is a right royal mess, as always. It has become a little more interesting for me simply because I like Titus Welliver (Black Shirt Man and at this point, I'm the human equivalent of a dog in a car; just give me something to look at as we travel, let me hang my head out the window and think of nothing but snacks and pee breaks and I am content.

That's how I feel about Des--give me a chance to say "hey brotha" once or twice an episode and I'm content.

The Japanese guy is, according to IMDB, Hiroyuki Sanada, apparently an action star in Japan and also known for his Shakespearean work. So far, I'm a fan!

I picked up a WWJLD shirt (what would John Locke do) from teefury.com yesterday, but I wish they'd had this other one for sale. It was Des done up like those red, white and blue Obama shirts, and it said "CONSTANT" at the bottom. Sadly it was only a potential submission, not an actual shirt.

Also, my friend, Curt, tweeted this: http://twitpic.com/112hyj

Ew! (Also, HA!, although I hate to admit it, but the look on Des's face is priceless.)

Okay, so I rewatched the premiere, and I'm not *as* annoyed, but I'm still very nervous. It seems the producers are just saying, screw the mysteries and everything crazy from the last 5 seasons, this is a story about the characters now. I guess I can handle that, but there are only 14 hours of show left -- stop introducing new people! I didn't even know Bram's name until I read a recap.

I have accepted the fact that I'll never know how/why Libby was in the mental institute, what the deal is with the numbers, or what was up with the fire in the season one finale that had no footprints around it. Seriously, who started that thing?

I've accepted the fate of LOST and the fact that I will probably be disappointed, but I've put in 100+ hours at this point, so I guess there's no point in me grumbling and being miserable for the next three months.

Or what made Walt such a creepy kid, or why the Others pulled certain people and children and not the rest (like that flight attendant). I don't actually remember that fire (maybe SmokeMonsterMan set it), but the numbers thing is really going to bother me too.

After this season, I'm really tempted to rewatch the entire show to see if any of it makes more sense after the fact. I was reading somebody's blog yesterday and they said that it's like the first season and the rest of the seasons are like two separate shows. That's kind of true.

I do think that some of the mysteries may get solved just by finding out why the island is the way it is, you know?

I gave up my serious attachment to it so long ago, so I haven't expected it to make any sense. That way, when it actually does, I'm pleasantly surprised, and when it doesn't, at least I can shrug and be happy that Sayyid took off his shirt.
