so i'm listening to music. ON MY NEW STEREO. and this makes me so very happy. we put cds in it, and at first it ignored the cd in the #1 spot, but then it recognized all the others, and when we clicked it around again it realized there was a cd in the #1 spot after all, and it played it. then after cd #1 was over, it moved right on to cd #2. i am so very glad.

and i ate my leftover pasta from our ruby tuesday's dinner last night, and it was fucking good pasta, even reheated. i totally cannot cook. i can make pretty decent chicken, but that's just due to me dumping salad dressing over the chicken and hoping the flavor seeps in. which it does, but i think i'm just lucky. i feel like cooking could be easy once i get a feel for things like basil; i feel like if i could just figure out the seasoning thing, i'd be all set with the cooking.

of course, the things i like best when i eat out are the things drenched in butter or honey mustard or something. like the honey mustard chicken at the outback steakhouse - it's absolutely drenched in honey mustard and mushrooms and cheese and bacon, and it's pretty much the savoriest ymmuyest thing i can think of. but i really don't know if i could eat food that good all the time, you know? because after a while it wouldn't taste as good anymore. you need things like lucky charms and kraft mac & cheese to balance things out.

so what should i bring to the pot luck dinner on wednesday night? all ideas and recipes will be accepted and considered.

So, now what kind of stuff are you supposed to be bringing? Cause I could suggest some stuff. Baked ziti is a fairly easy thing to make. cook some ziti, stick it in a baking pan, cover it with some jar sauce (they already do the seasoning thing for you! ingenious!), and cover that with cheese.... stick it in the oven (around 375) till its done.

Anything baked and covered with cheese is good. Unless you're Josh. Which is why I can't make baked ziti as often as I'd like to.

I'd say invest in a Betty Crocker cookbook, cause those things are pretty cool. I've been working my way up to knowing how to cook, and there are quite a few things I can make pretty well now... like homemade pizza, and not-from-a-box mac & cheese (mmmmm...) and soup.

Dammit, now I feel like cooking.
