I have to accept the fact that I am really an adult now. Proof: I have had a cup of coffee every day this week. Not Starbucks mocha latte bullshit, either--actual office-provided diesel fuel coffee. I need about 9 sugars to make it taste not like diesel fuel, so I have to drink the decaf or otherwise I'd be on the freakin' ceiling, but still. It's coffee. Every day. Weird.

Heh. My work buys Foldgers in bulk. And we don't even have decaf. Everyone would just look at it and go "what the ever lovin' fuck is this???"

My work buys like Captain Generic coffee. Folgers might not be so bad. But if I was drinking regular caf, I swear I would be on the ceiling like all day. It's hard to work when you're on the ceiling!

I'm sure you could bring a laptop up there with you.

Yeah, but then I have to request a laptop from IT, and that could lead to embarrassing questions. Plus, the ones they have can't run for long without being plugged in, and I don't know that the power cords are long enough.

A friend taught me if coffee is bitter to put a little salt in it. Sounded weird to me, but when I tried it, it worked.

Ya know, I always thought I would learn to like coffee when I became an adult--that's what my mother insisted, anyway. I said I hated it as a kid, she said, "Wait till you get to college." I am addicted to caffeine, yes, but I still think coffee is vile. My caffeine addiction might be easier if I could stand it (or have milk to make it palatable).

Did you like coffee before and just not make a habit of it?

No, I never liked it. Just the mocha latte bullshit at Starbucks, and that's more like a tasty dessert than a real coffee.

I guess I'll never be an adult... I hate coffee. Although I love the smell of it. Mike drinks about a quart a morning (no kidding, he has a pitcher to keep it warm while he checks email and stuff)

I've always loved the smell of it too. I like going down that aisle at the supermarket and smelling the coffee, and even dipping my fingers in the loose beans 'cause they feel good on your skin. But I never got into drinking it before just recently.

hehe, it's so weird to read this... when just the other day I was thinkin' 'bout how I have to come to terms with thinking of myself as a "young adult"... weird! Very weird...
