Today's "Welcome to my brain" moment:

At my work, I burn CDs using a program called Roxio. Every single time I use it, it reminds me of the old commercial jingle for Polly-o string cheese that went "Yo! Polly-o!" (The guys in the commercial were supposed to be cool rappers or something?) So my brain is happily singing "Yo! Roxio!", and from there, it suddenly occurred to me that the phrase "polly-o string cheese" has the exact same rhythm as "Eleanor Rigby". You can guess what's playing in my brain right now. I'm shocked that Polly-o has not yet jumped on this marketing opportunity.

Similarly, you wouldn't believe how many three-syllable words there are that can be substituted in for "erotic" in Madonna's "Erotica" song. It's disturbing.

Okay, time to get out the ipod.

This post brought to you by the same brain who brought you disturbing little penis songs.

I have to accept the fact that I am really an adult now. Proof: I have had a cup of coffee every day this week. Not Starbucks mocha latte bullshit, either--actual office-provided diesel fuel coffee. I need about 9 sugars to make it taste not like diesel fuel, so I have to drink the decaf or otherwise I'd be on the freakin' ceiling, but still. It's coffee. Every day. Weird.

My work is very challenging and stressful today.

I think I've been working on rhinoplasty chapters too long. The terminology is getting in my head: I've got this idea that it might be fun to attend an "excessive nostril show", at which the performers might do the "columellar strut". An "extended columellar strut", even, although that might only appear on the special edition DVD.

Apparently I really need to finish the rhinoplasty section and move on to something else. There can't be anything musical in the laryngeal cancer section, can there?
