Beacon Hill walking tour
Jun. 2nd, 2005 12:45 pmOn Tuesday evening, I met up with Leah from the Otis House to learn the short walking tour of Beacon Hill. I have a map and a list of descriptions and dates, and I know the route now; however, I would feel uncomfortable giving this tour to people who have paid for it until I have practiced it. So would any of you like to go on a free walking tour of Beacon Hill next week? I'm thinking one day after work when it's nice out, maybe Wednesday? Around 6pmish? It would last probably a little over an hour, since I'll still be figuring things out. It's a lovely place to walk around and explore, and this would give me the incentive to actually go through the notes and start memorizing and making cue cards. Let me know and, depending on who wants to go, we'll set up an official day, time, and place to meet (preferably near the Otis House, which is a quick walk from Charles/MGH and Gov't Center).
(Also, this is the version of the tour that's light on the serious architectural history. We stop and point at several buildings because JFK went there once, and there's less emphasis on heavy historical details. It's a lighthearted fun kind of tour.)

Lauren! Job!
Jun. 2nd, 2005 05:54 pmLauren got a new job!!!! I am so happy-dancing over here. Her current job sucks balls and her boss is a dickwad, and she has been looking and looking for something new. The new job is a one-year contract position, but it's in a different company, doing different kinds of work, making better money, and best of all, having a different boss. I can't stop squeeing on her behalf. Yehy!
